Communications and Marketing Specialist

Job Summary:

The Communication and Marketing (C&M) is a part time non- exempt position working approximately 16-20 hours per week. The scheduled work hours are flexible. Due to the nature of recreational work, evening, weekend, and holiday hours are to be expected. The C&M Specialist is responsible for managing the public relations, public information, marketing plan/strategies, website and social media updates, review article content

 Qualifications:

Prior experience in Communication, Marketing, or related field. Experience in public information, public relations, or marketing with a preference given to those individuals with Information technology background. Experience in graphic design. Experience in Word, Photoshop, WordPress, basic HTML, Facebook, Twitter or other standard desktop publishing programs.

Duties:

  1. Communicate with the Owner/CEO regularly on product development and marketing matters.
  2. Coordinate the development of blog articles, product brochures, flyers, and promotional pieces.
  3. Coordinate participation of sales department in various trade shows.
  4. Develop written copy for the information portions of the program guides and flyers. Supervise the Graphic Designer in the development of these communication and marketing materials.
  5. Manage all public information efforts.
    • Manage social media communication for the company, including the company and product websites, Facebook accounts), and Twitter account.
    • Manage an email distribution process.
    • Develop and issue press releases.
    • Develop, evaluate, and manage a marketing plan that addresses internal and external factors.
  6. Develop and maintain media relations with local and regional television, radio, and newspaper agencies.
  7. Maintain company websites using WordPress.
  8. Promote a service and support quality loss control program for the company through surveys
  9. Perform any duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
  10. Assist with special event programs.

  1. Ability to work effectively and independently in a climate requiring timely administrative responsiveness and flexibility.
  2. Possess leadership and project management skills.

Cognitive Considerations:

Must exhibit good problem solving ability and good judgment in keeping with the mission of promoting a positive image of the company and its services.
