🛠 What’s New This Week

PBX upgrades have resumed! All version 6.0 PBXs have now been updated to 6.0.55, and we’re continuing our migration of additional systems to version 6.0 this week. This update includes a wide range of improvements—from voicemail and fax handling to reporting and SIP call recordings.

We’ve also released a new version of the Desktop Communicator with more helpful features aimed at improving your day-to-day workflow. Full details below.


⬆️ PBX Upgrades Scheduled

A new group of PBXs is scheduled to be upgraded to version 6.0 tonight, July 16th, starting at 11:59 PM CDT.


🔍 Highlights in This Update

✅ PBX Version 6.0.55–6.0.56

  • Campaign Registry: Fixed missing campaign history and resolved error messages related to campaign edits. JIRA: PBX-3694
  • eFax Error Logging: When an email fails to send for a fax, a detailed error is now shown in the Asterisk console to assist with troubleshooting. JIRA: Not Tracked
  • Call Recordings: Resolved an issue preventing SIP peer recordings from being retrieved if the peer label contained special characters. JIRA: PBX-3635
  • Archived Faxes: Download errors from the Web UI have been resolved. JIRA: PBX-3689
  • Operator Panels: Fixed a bug that could cause errors when logging in without a panel or tenant selected. JIRA: PBX-3600
  • Voicemail Fixes: Corrected time zone mismatches in voicemail timestamps and improved voicemail routing behavior. JIRA: PBX-3643, PBX-3686
  • Console Performance: Fixed an issue causing CPU spikes when the staff-only Console page was accessed. JIRA: PBX-2524
  • Report Scheduler: Fixed issues with missing or misrouted error emails and cleanup tasks for scheduled reports. JIRA: PBX-3687
  • Call Records Display: Adjusted 5.7 call records shown in 6.0 so only one call leg is displayed, as intended. JIRA: PBX-3644

New features include:

  • Add Contact from Calls: Easily create a contact from your call history if a number isn’t recognized.
  • Secondary Number Support: Add additional numbers to existing contacts directly from the call log.
  • Bulk Search: Use comma-separated values to search across calls, messages, and other data.
  • Search by Contact Name: Quickly find resources tied to individual contacts.

The following improvements have been implemented and are now under review before release:

  • PBX-3529: Time zone settings not reflected properly in call report results
  • PBX-3551: Inconsistent column headers in exported reports
  • PBX-3664: Users forced to select a group in call report filters unnecessarily
  • PBX-3682: Call quality reports showing incorrect peer registration percentages
  • PBX-3685: Handset keys now default to speed dial instead of BLF when appropriate
  • PBX-3581: Unanswered calls sometimes show 0-second recordings
  • PBX-3111: Report accuracy issues related to Dial Group steps
  • DTC-107: New debug log entries in the Desktop Communicator for failed API calls

  • PBX-3651: Outbound fax records split across multiple entries in fax reports
  • PBX-3697: SMS report export to PDF fails
  • PBX-3668: Certain punctuation blocked in campaign opt-in messages
  • PBX-3667: Reports showing unanswered calls when another extension picked up
  • PBX-3661: Login logs flooded with entries from SMS services
  • PBX-3658: “Sole Proprietor” references to be removed from campaign registry forms
  • PBX-3655: Add guidance for submitting campaign documentation after creation
  • PBX-3605: Calls forwarded by Follow Me show as external instead of internal
  • PBX-3544: API now returns more accurate HTTP responses (403 instead of 401)
  • PBX-3561 / PBX-3627: Button behavior issues on some Polycom VVX phones
