DLS Hosted PBX – Fall 2025 Development Update (Sept–Nov)

Hi everyone,

It’s been a little while since our last update—thank you for your patience this fall. We also want to take a moment to extend belated Thanksgiving wishes to you and your teams. We hope you had a restful holiday and are entering the winter season in good spirits.

Although we’ve been quiet, our development team has been hard at work improving system stability, enhancing reporting, addressing customer-reported issues, and preparing for several major features coming in early 2026. This email provides a full summary of updates delivered across Hosted PBX versions 6.0.73 through 6.0.75, as well as Desktop Communicator updates through 2.3.94.

A separate announcement with details about the redesigned customer portal will follow soon.


📌 PBX Version Updates

  • 6.0.73 released Nov 11
  • 6.0.74 released shortly after (manual update optional)
  • 6.0.75 released Nov 25 (mass update completed)
  • 5.7 PBXs remain at version 5.7.91
  • Desktop Communicator updated through 2.3.94

🔧 6.0.73 – Fixes and Interface Improvements

PBX-3885 – Custom Branding Not Showing in Fax Emails

Some fax confirmation and inbound-fax emails showed the generic Hosted PBX branding instead of a customer’s custom logo.

This has been corrected so custom branding appears consistently.

PBX-3886 – SMS Phone Number Page Layout Issues

Long descriptions for SMS numbers stretched the page and broke formatting.

Descriptions now shorten automatically, with a full view available on hover.

PBX-3888 – Extension Summary Report Not Running in Certain Cases

The summary report would fail when filtering by a user who did not belong to any group.

This filtering issue is resolved and the report now runs reliably.


🔧 6.0.74 – Improvements to Call Handling, Time Zones, and App Upgrade Behavior

PBX-3882 – Added Firewall Requirements to PBX Help Menu

We added a new help section listing recommended firewall/network settings so phones and softphones stay connected and audio flows correctly.

PBX-3895 – Desktop Communicator Reloads Automatically After Version Change

If the Desktop Communicator updated while a user was logged in, the app sometimes behaved inconsistently until restarted.

The PBX now instructs the app to reload automatically when needed.


Defect Fixes in 6.0.74

PBX-3874 – Queue Overflow Not Being Triggered

Calls waiting too long in a queue weren’t always being sent to their backup destination (such as voicemail or another department).

This occurred when parts of the call flow were renamed without the PBX refreshing settings.

The system now refreshes properly so queue overflow works every time.

PBX-3860 – Incorrect Call Times for Users Outside Central Time Zone

Some users outside the default timezone saw incorrect timestamps in detailed call records.

Time display is now accurate for all time zones.


Desktop Communicator 2.3.92–2.3.93

Blank Screen on App Launch – Fixed

A rare issue caused the app to occasionally open with a blank screen.

This behavior has been fully resolved.

Contact Manager Editing/Deleting Not Working – Fixed

Contact details now update and delete reliably inside the application.


✨ 6.0.75 – New Panel Permissions, Queue Reliability Fixes, Reporting Improvements

New Feature

PBX-2585 – Per-Panel Control of Whisper, Listen, Barge & Transfer

These call-supervision options used to apply to all operator panels at once.

Now they can be controlled individually per panel, giving organizations much finer control over who can monitor, whisper, barge, or perform call transfers.

A new option to allow/deny “Hang Up” per panel was also added.


Defect Fixes in 6.0.75

PBX-3090 – Voicemail Archiving Not Working Reliably

Some voicemail messages weren’t properly moving into archive folders.

This behavior has been corrected.

PBX-3368 – Incorrect Default Office Hours on Newly Created PBXs

Default holiday and business-hours entries created on new installations contained invalid characters that caused scheduling issues.

These have been corrected automatically across affected systems.

PBX-3542 – Queue Agents Not Receiving Calls After One Device Went Offline

If an agent logged into a queue on two devices and one disconnected, they sometimes stopped receiving queue calls entirely—even if their main phone was still online.

Queue routing now correctly continues sending calls to all remaining registered devices.

PBX-3834 – Outbound User API Calls Missing Complete Information

Calls placed through the User API were missing some internal tagging used for reporting.

This tagging has been fixed to ensure consistent reporting going forward.

PBX-3838 – SMS Number Changes Not Appearing in Change Log

Updates made to SMS numbers were not being tracked in the audit logs.

All changes made after this update will now appear correctly.

PBX-3873 – Call Detail Report Missing Certain Call Events

Some call events were hidden because only the first 20 entries were shown.

Pagination has been restored so the full call timeline is visible.

PBX-3884 – Multiple “letsmeet” Links Generated in Rocket.Chat

Starting a meeting in Rocket.Chat sometimes produced several meeting links instead of just one.

This has been corrected.


🖥️ Desktop Communicator 2.3.94

Clearer Error Messages on Login Failures

If the application cannot reach the PBX or receives an unexpected response, the login error message now provides clearer information to help identify the cause.
