Switching Your Business Phone System Doesn't Have to Be Painful

KEEP YOUR NUMBERS. WE MANAGE THE MIGRATION. YOUR OLD SERVICE STAYS ON UNTIL THE NEW ONE WORKS.

Most Businesses Don't Stay With an Old Phone System Because They Love It

They stay because switching feels risky: lost numbers, a day without phones, staff who cannot find the hold button. Here is exactly what happens when you move to DLS Hosted PBX, who does what, and why your phones keep ringing the whole way through.

How a Move to DLS Works

1. Review

We look at your current phone bill, handsets, locations and Internet connection, and check that your bandwidth will carry your calls with room to spare.

2. Design

Together with your office administrator we map how calls should flow: auto attendants, business hours, ring groups, voicemail and who gets which extension.

3. Paperwork

You sign the service agreement and a letter of authorization and give us a recent bill. That is everything we need to port your numbers.

4. Provisioning

We configure your users, extensions and phones before anything ships. Phones arrive ready to plug in, or a DLS technician installs them on site.

5. Training

Administrators and users are trained before go-live, so the first day on the new system holds no surprises.

6. Go-Live

Your numbers port on a scheduled date. The phones are already working, and DLS engineers are on the line while it happens. Your old service stays on until the port completes.

7. Support

After go-live you call the same U.S.-based support team, around the clock, by phone or through the customer portal.

Questions Businesses Ask Before They Switch

Yes. Local and toll-free numbers are ported to DLS. We handle the port request with your current carrier; you provide a signed letter of authorization and a recent bill. Keep your old service active until we confirm the port is complete.

Most business moves take a few weeks from signed agreement to go-live. The number port is usually the longest step and depends on your current carrier. We schedule go-live around the confirmed port date, so nothing changes before everything is ready.

Often, yes. DLS Hosted PBX works with industry-standard SIP phones from Yealink, Poly, Cisco and others. Check the supported handsets list, or lease or buy new phones from DLS.

No. Your phones are configured and tested before the port. Until the numbers move, calls keep arriving on your old service. Once they move, they ring on DLS.

Your auto attendant keeps answering because it runs in the DLS cloud, not in your office. Calls can follow you to a mobile phone with Follow Me, the Mobile Communicator works over cellular data, and voicemail is delivered to email.

A business-class router and switch with Quality of Service, and enough bandwidth for the calls you make at the same time. We check this in the review step. See the network requirements.

DLS offers month-to-month and term options. A term subscription lowers the monthly price.
