<< Back To News Setup Guides Configuring Authentication in Outlook Express This guide details the process of configuring the Outlook Express 6 news client to authenticate upon connecting. This is required for all usenet clients as of March 1, 2002. This guide assumes you have already setup the news features of your Outlook Express client to connect to the DLS news server.
Step 1: Open up the Outlook Express client. Right-click on the
news server in the left-hand window pane. Click "Properties" from the menu
that appears.
Step 2: Click on the "Server" tab in the window that appears. Check the box labeled "This server requires me to log on" and the two boxes below it will become enabled. Enter the same username and password you use for checking your e-mail, ensuring that your username has "@dls.net" at the end of it. Once completed, click the "OK" button.
Outlook Express will now authenticate you each time you connect to the news server. |
