Configuring Authentication in Free Agent

This guide details the process of configuring the Free Agent 1.21 news client to authenticate upon connecting. This is required for all usenet clients as of March 1, 2002.

This guide assumes you have already setup the Free Agent news client to connect to the DLS news server.

Step 1:   Open up the Free Agent application. Click the "Options" menu, then "General Preferences".



Step 2:   In the "User" tab, check the box labeled "Server requires authorization login". In the "User Name" field, enter your DLS username followed by "@dls.net". Check the box below this field labeled "Remember Password between sessions" and enter your password. Click the "OK" button.



Free Agent will now authenticate you each time you connect to the news server.
